The Nursery and Reception Classes represent the start
of an educational journey in which the children's innate love of
learning is fostered by specialist Early Years teachers. Learning and
play are carefully interwoven so each day is an exciting adventure where
knowledge is gained, concepts are tried out, new skills are practised
and refined, and independence is encouraged. This academic and creative
learning is underpinned by an emphasis on kindness and respect.
The Early Years have both indoor and outdoor classrooms, as well as access to many facilities of the whole school. A weekly French lesson is taught by a specialist French teacher. Reception children have Music lessons with the school's Director of Music and also Dynamic Dance lessons with a specialist Ballet teacher.
Modern meets traditional here; you will see four year old children
reading books and writing, alongside others using their computer skills
to investigate calculation!A carefully planned programme of transition ensures a smooth move from Nursery to Reception, and from Reception to Year One.
After school care is provided until 6 o'clock with an exciting programme of activities based on themed nights.
