School code of conduct towards parents
We shall do our best:
- To care for your child as an important individual within the school community
- To promote your child’s self-confidence, social awareness and growing independence and maturity
- To identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses; to foster the former and improve the latter
- To ensure that any punishment is fair, reasonable and worthwhile, and that the reason for it has been understood
- To provide your child with opportunities for self-fulfilment and success.
- To be available to discuss any problem which might occur
- To inform you if a problem occurs with your child
- To recognise and praise good work, good
effort and good conduct from your child
What we would like of Parents
Your role in the education of your child remains of crucial importance. The best learning is the result of home and school working together.
We need your support:
- To provide your child with the
optimum conditions for learning by:- Making certain that your child comes to school prepared.
- Delivering and picking up yourchild punctually, or advising the school of
delays. - Not taking your child out of term
time unless unavoidable.
- To ensure reasonable bed-times at home before school days and to control the recreational home use of TV and PC
- To come and see us promptly if you are not happy with any school matters.
- To support us on school policy in areas of behaviour and dress
- To let us know immediately if anything happens at home that might affect your child at school.
- To try to help your child understand that we have to consider everybody’s best interests and to cope with any disappointments positively.
Pupils’ Code of Conduct
As a member of St. Andrew’s I shall do my best:
- To make St. Andrew’s a happy place where everyone matters
- To give my best efforts, even when I do not like something or find it difficult
- To respect the right of others to work and play without interference
- To respect other people’s property
- To respect other people’s opinions
- To respect school property
- To be safe, and not to do anything which might endanger others
- To be honest
- To be properly dressed and equipped
- To be helpful and kind to others.

As a school we shall do our best:
- To provide for you a happy and secure place in which to work and play
- To listen to and respect your problems, whether work or personal ones, and try to help you sort them out
- To be patient when you find work difficult
- To praise you when you have tried your best
- To help you learn from your mistakes through guidance and understanding
- To take seriously your views and respect your feelings
- To provide you with opportunities to develop and succeed
- To help you manage your learning
- To help you take responsibility for yourself
