St Andrew's win Reading Competition
Ellie
Jenkins, aged 11, has won the regional heat of the Thomas Cranmer Reading
Competition. Reading from the 1662 Prayer Book at St Edward’s School in Oxford,
she won through to the national final to be held in York in February. At
this stage she will have to recite a lengthy passage she has learnt.
Fellow pupil William Barker came third in the heat.
The Cranmer Awards are an annual competition run by the Prayer Book Society
to introduce young people to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.
