The School is large enough to offer a wide range of subjects and activities yet small enough to enable each pupil to be known and cared for individually. The Form Teachers are the backbone of the pastoral system, offering support, encouragement and a listening ear. There is an extensive network of additional care provided by the PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) lessons, the Matrons, the Deputy Head Pastoral, the Office staff and other children. The Head Master and Head of Pre-Prep chair the four School Councils which give the pupils a chance to discuss any ideas for improvement.
St. Andrew's welcomes pupils of all faiths. There are regular services in the Chapel which has a broad Anglican tradition. The Christian ethos underpins the School's values and Codes of Conduct. The Chapel offers the chance both to worship and reflect - an oasis of tranquility in a busy world. The Chapel is at the heart of the extensive work that staff, pupils and parents carry out to raise funds for a wide variety of charities. We encourage children to believe that they can make a difference.
