Rugby season 2010
March 10The U.9 A rugby side finished off a great season with a win over Crosfields, retaining their unbeaten season. This makes it three years in a row that the U.9 teams have have been victorious. The Colts have also had a very good season and their 7-a-side team made it all the way to the semi-finals of The Oratory Prep schools tournament. The 1st XV missed a few of their matches due to bad weather but also kept an unbeaten record, beating Farleigh for the first time in a few years. They also came home victorious from the Pinewood 7s after beating Beaudesert Prep school in the Final. Well done to all the teams throughout the school for a very successful season
Autumn Term Results
November 09The 1st XI enjoyed an unbeaten football season winning most of their games with ease. The U.11s won all their 7-a-side games and unfortunately only lost to Sunningdale in one of their two 11-a-side games. Both teams won their groups in the IAPS regionals and Bradfield 6s respectively and just lost out in the final stages of both tournaments.
In the meantime the U.12 girls competed in the IAPS regional hockey for the 1st time and got through to the Finals on Thursday 3rd Dec at Hatfield.
The rugby season started on a high with the 1st team beating Farleigh for the first time in a number of years. A week later the 1st VII went on to win the Pinewood 7s. A great achievement as we were one of the few schools from the 14 strong tournament who play football this term. After beating Beaudesert 7-0 in our group, and battling our way through the group stages, we met them again in an enthralling final. As the day progressed so did our standard of play, and by the final we had started to play some excellent 7s. After going down twice great team spirit saw us claw our way back and eventually win the final 27-15.
Summer events
July 09Well done to the U.11 girls who were unbeaten at rounders for a 2nd year in a row. Their boy conterparts, the Colts, also had an excellent season on the cricket square and finished the season by winning the St. Andrew's Pairs Tournament for the second year in a row.
In athletics there is hope for the future with the U.10 boys relay team winning at the West Surrey Athletics Meeting. They were, however, outdone by the Javelin throwers, three of whom won their respective events and went on to compete at the National Prep. Schools Athletics meeting in Birmingham, where they achieved 2 silvers and a bronze medal.
Another succesfull season for the U.9 rugby team
April 09The 1st XV rugby produced a mixed bag of results this year. The Colts, however, only lost one match to Farleigh in a very encouraging season. The top team for the 2nd year running were the U.9s who had another unbeaten season.
Brockhurst matches
February 09All matches against Brockhurst are cancelled

This followed an excellent 12-a-side season and spured them on to win the Daneshill Tournament at the end of term. Not to be outdone, the U.9 rugby side produced a winning season, with 14 wins out of 14. Extremely well done to all the players involved.
Colts Football - 10 out of 10
January 08Congratulations must go to the Colts 'A' football side for an exceptional football season. Winning all 10 of their matches they scored 46 goals and conceeded only 7. They have continued their success on the rugby field with 5 wins out of six, their only defeat coming against Crosfields in a very close encounter; the final score 5-7 to Crosfields. The 1st XV despite a difficult start to the season have thusfar won all their matches this term and the U.9s are still unbeaten with 4 wins under their belts.
Many of the girls teams also continue to thrive. The U.12 hockey team have won 5 matches out of 5 as well as being the Pangbourne Tournament winners. The U.10 hockey team also has an unbeaten record along with the U10 'B' netball team.
November 07
During the first half of the Autumn Term many of the school teams have enjoyed continued success on the games field.
The U.12 and U.13 girls' hockey teams both won their respective Pangbourne College Tournaments, the U.12 team scoring an amazing 24 goals. The U.10 hockey team and the U.9 netball team also remain unbeaten.
The football teams have also had an encouraging start to the season with the Senior 6-a-side team making it through to the IAPS finals which takes place at Repton School on Sunday 18th November. The Colts 'A' team have won all nine matches and oposition coaches have been very complimentary on the team's performances.
In Orienteering, both the boys' and girls' teams finished in 3rd place nationally at the British Schools' Score Championships at Petworth park in West Sussex. Our highest points scorer was Squad Captain Will Hartz, whilst Nicole Snyman was 2nd overall in the girls' G5 class. Altogether, a great result, and we are now looking forward to taking part in the BSOC weekend down in Dorset on 17th/18th November.
A New Year
September 07Welcome back to a new year with all the pupils, and unfortunately teachers, that one year older. At the end of last term the U.13 Cricket team were runners-up in the Berkshire knockout competition finishing another successful season at all age groups. This term we have organised 140 matches in a number of different sports throughout the age groups and ability range. Mrs. Fiona Fountain has taken over as Head of Girls Games this term and I am sure you will offer her plenty of support over the coming weeks.

Summer Term Sport
June 07Despite the wet and dreary summer weather, not all is doom and gloom! Our sports teams continue to enjoy a number of successes in a variety of sports.
The 1st XI cricket team have thus far had a highly successful season with wins against Josca's, St Hugh's, St Neot's, St Edward's, St Bart's and Pangbourne College. Matthew Hicks, Charlie Manasseh, William Wright and William Hardcastle all hit 50's and they remain in the competition for the Berkshire Knock-out Cup. The 2nd XI are also performing well, having only lost to Holme Grange's 1st XI. Our Colts A team have won 7 from 9 matches, both defeats were by narrow margins. Worthy of a special mention is Joe Tyler who scored a 50 and, along with Jack Fountain, took 5 wickets in a match. The Colts B team had an impressive run of 7 consecutive wins, which unfortunately finally came to an end at the hands of Horris Hill. Our Under 9's have also been brimming with confidence and remain unbeaten since their first match of the season.
In athletics, we triumphed over St Neot's and Holme Grange in an enjoyable triangular meet. The swimming team has also had some success in the pool, beating St Neot's, Marlston House, Pangbourne College and Holme Grange. Well done to all, the hard work and enthusiasm continues to bring results. Keep it up!

Half Yearly report - Girls Games
June 07
The 2006 netball and hockey season was probably the most successful to date, certainly in the six years that I have been at the school. From the U9’s all the way through to our senior girls at almost every tournament St Andrew’s attended, they were either the winners or runners up.
It started with the U11’s at
It was then the turn of the U10’s who romped home to victory at the Holme Grange Tournament but only managed the runners up position at the Queen Anne’s Tounament. Not to be left out our U9’s secured the most unexpected victory with probably the biggest win of the season. The U9 Farleigh hockey tournament is always fiercely fought and 2006 was no exception. Ten schools this year arrived to battle it out on a boiling hot day. We sure must breed them tough at St Andrew’s as we didn’t have the most skilled and drilled team at the tournament, but we were unquestionably the ones with the most guts and determination - victory was ours on the number of goals scored during the tournament.
Well done to all – it's been my pleasure

Spring Term
March 07The netball teams had a ‘clean sweep’ against St. Neot’s from U.9 to U.13 level. The U.10 team won the Holme Grange tournament and were runners-up in the Queen Anne’s tournament. The U.11 team also went to the Queen Anne’s School to win their 3rd tournament of the year in style, beating a number of top London and Berkshire schools in the process. The U.9 hockey team won the Farleigh tournament and both the U.12 and U.13 netball teams saw off some tough competition in the Regional rounds to earn themselves a place in the National Finals.
The rugby teams also started the term positively with wins over Holme Grange, and two great results against Cothill at 1st XV and Colts A. The parents also enjoyed two closely contested matches at ‘A’ team level against Moulsford, traditionally one of the strongest schools in the area. During the month of February we won 18 out of 18 rugby matches beating Horris Hill, Brockhurst and Cheam at all levels, as well as playing and beating Crosfields and St. George’s, Windsor. The 1st XV had an unbeaten term playing some great rugby, the colts (improving all term) only lost one game to Moulsford and the U.9s followed their unbeaten football season with 10 out of 10 wins so far (one to go).
Congratulations to all players at all levels this term. Commitment, enthusiasm and results have been excellent.
